What will they think?

As far back as I can remember the opinions of others has always carried a huge weight for me. It wasn’t uncommon for me to hear the words in my head, “...but what will people think?” I often found myself completely adjusting my action in light of my own answer.

It’s taken me a long time to confront not just the fact that it mattered, but why it mattered.

We all want to be seen in a good light, we want others to see us and be happy for us, to know our hearts and see past the bullshit. There are people in your life that won’t.

People often see others through filters and not always the kind that makes you look better. They make assumptions. Some have not yet gained the wisdom or strength to form opinions of their own, and instead take on the opinions of others who lack insight. Unfortunately, some people don’t care to understand, so they can back up their own feelings of inadequacy or envy. There are negative people everywhere.

In order to move past this into the real world of tapping into my potential, I’ve had to remind myself that it doesn’t matter. I’m a people pleaser by nature, so that’s not an easy task. What I know is nobody ever grew into the person they were meant to be, by pleasing everyone.

”If you cannot be happy for me, if you cannot support me, if you are unable to cheer me on and encourage me when I feel stuck or fearful, you have no place in my inner circle.”

Be fierce, be bold, do you, let go of the opinions of other if they do not serve you well!
